  • 💬 How do I start my class?
    💡 To get started with learning Mandarin at Deer Mandarin. Step 1: Fill in the contact form on our website and sign up for a trial class. Step 2: We will contact you to schedule a trial class. Step 3: After the trial class, you can confirm the weekly schedule with us and purchase a course package to begin your Mandarin learning journey. Our team will guide you through the process and ensure that you are set up for success in learning Mandarin with Deer Mandarin.
  • 💬 Do you teach Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese?
    💡 We offer courses in both Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Based on student learning needs.
  • 💬 What is your Cancellation and No show policy for Private Tutoring and Private Group Class?
    💡 Cancellation Policy: Rescheduling allowed with at least 24 hours' notice from the student if they are unable to attend a scheduled lesson. Rescheduling is based on teacher availability. Cancellations within 5 hours will be counted as a completed session. Any cancelled lesson initiated by the tutor will be made up to ensure students receive their full complement of sessions. 12 classes must be completed within 4 months, encouraging regular attendance or remaining lessons expire. 💡 Sick or Emergency Leave Policy In the event of illness, a minimum of 3 hours notice is required in order for your tutor to be rescheduled to a later date. Less than 3 hours notice will result in the full amount of the tutorial being charged. 💡 No-Show Policy: In some cases, if a student fails to attend a scheduled session without prior notice, we charged for the full session. Students who are more than 15 minutes late to their lesson are considered a no-show. No discounts or refunds will be issued if a student does not show. Fees are non-refundable for missed lessons. Please send email to us or your instructor directly to indicate an absence. This policy encourages students to respect their scheduled appointments and notifies tutors of potential changes in their availability. Thank you for your understanding!
  • 💬 What is your Absences policy for Group Class?
    Group Class Absences Policy We understand that unexpected events or personal commitments may arise, which is why we offer a Leave policy for our Group Classes. Students are allowed to request a Leave of absence, and they must notify their teacher at least 2 hours in advance. During their absence, students will have access to the course materials and course video (ZOOM class only) to ensure they can catch up on missed lessons. 💡Take a Sick leave: Please notify the teacher 2 hours before class starts. We will provide a course video(ZOOM class only) and handout for review. 💡 No-Show Policy: In some cases, if a student fails to attend a scheduled session without prior notice, we charged for the full session. Students who are more than 15 minutes late to their lesson are considered a no-show. No discounts or refunds will be issued if a student does not show or late. Fees are non-refundable for missed lessons.

    💡We offer in-person, on-site, and online tutoring options to accommodate our students' preferences and schedules: Online Class: Conducted via Zoom. A class link will be sent to you upon registration. In-Person Class: Held at a client’s home, a local library, or another preferred location. 🔸 Please note: The fee may vary depending on the teacher’s travel distance. Teacher’s Place: Students can also attend lessons at the teacher’s teaching space, if available. Location details will be provided upon request.
  • 💬 Where are in-person class located?
    💡 In-person class takes place at a client’s home, at a local library or other preferred location. We do not offer drop in tutoring at this moment.
  • 💬 Do you offer Private group class?
    💡 Yes, At Deer Mandarin, we typically have 3~6 students in our group classes to ensure personalized attention and ample opportunity for interaction. If students wants to learn Mandarin with their friends or family, we offer a group private class option with a special discount. You can sign up together with your friends or family members, and we will provide a customized quote based on the number of students. Feel free to contact us to learn more about our group private class offer and the discount available for group sign-ups.

  • 💬 What technical requirements do I need for online tutoring sessions?
    💡To join our online tutoring sessions, all you need is a reliable internet connection and a device like a computer, laptop, or tablet. Also, download ZOOM software. For optimal audio quality, we recommend using a headset with a microphone.
  • 💬 Should I buy some additional study materials?
    💡 We provide handout to review. So you don't need to buy materials. Our experienced instructors create worksheet to ensure that our students have everything they need to succeed in their language studies. Therefore, there is no need for students to buy additional study materials. However, if students have their own textbook, materials or school homework, we could review with students. Materials: Worksheets are provided for home review. To ensure complete and high-quality learning resources, student will receive materials. Online class will provide e-material. A $10-15 material fee applies.

    💡For Group Course and Private Course Refund Policy a. Withdrawal before course begins: If we receives cancellation notice more than 10 days before the course starting date, we will refund the course fees paid. If we receives the cancellation less than 10 days before the course starting date, 40% of the course fees will be charged. b. Withdrawal after course has started: Tuition Refunds will not be issued for any reason once the course begins.
